BEDRI RAHMI BAY
In the cliffs of the northern shore can be seen apertures of
the rock tombs, with all the trees at the foot. Ruins of the
ancient city on the shore extend into the sea.
The ruins are
known to belong to the city of Cyra an hour’s walk to the
west along a steep mountain track, and so were probably part
of its port.
To the east of this hill, beside the restaurant is a tap for
drinking water among oleanders and the pines and beside it a
large picture of a fish, painted by the famous Turkish
artist Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, one of the first to make the
Blue Voyage.
The bay is often known as a Bedri Rahmi after its famous
visitor.
